As I sit in front of the TV watching nothing in particular, thinking about my week, yet can't recall exactly what I did and why I am always running around like a chicken with no head. I seem to be so busy , with so many minor errands that my days passes by so fast that monday and sat seem to merge seamlessly.
Everyday I have something to do. Somewhere to be. Someone to meet. I can't decide if this is good or bad. Try as I may to relax at home and catch up on watching Oprah , errands just crop up from nowhere and off I go chasing the headless chicken,I was hoping for a quiet month of May , you know, eat , sleep and jalan jalan but .....
Now I hope to have a quiet June, but already I have a list of things to do. Have to help two persons fine tune their speech. One as guest of honor and one as in coming president. a wedding to attend , an installation and an AGM. A birthday to go to , a facial and a manicure, weekly alpha course at church, weekly ladies sharing group , aerobics twice weekly and yoga twice weekly ... oh boy, !!! I am exhausted already. Still my husband says I don't exercise enough. Ok I will try to find time between my lunch with Obama and power meeting with Najib to go to the golf club to swim.
Actually what I need is sleep. Sleep at 11 pm and wake up at 8 am. nice relaxing breakfast sitting down , instead of standing at the sink and gulping down the bread. I guess after doing this for 23 years when the kids were growing up , it's a habit hard to break. Only possible when we are on holiday at a hotel. Like when we were in Bangkok recently.
Meanwhile as I sit here watching CNN, thinking about what interesting topics I can blog about , the time has past 11pm and I should go to bed as I have a full day tomorrow. Have to call Lady Gaga and cancel our shopping trip as Nelson Mendala will be dropping in to have a chat about my dogs..... Hmmmmm.

shoot first then ask questions later
Sadly in May , some one very close got robbed, or rather her home got burgled. the thieves took her personal treasures given to her by a loved one. Fortunately for the family, the kids were not there neither was she. Guess that alone is a blessing only God can bestow.
It was a frightening experience for all of us., one that we will not forget too soon. Now home security is on all our minds once the sun sets. Of course the Police still have not solved the case nor have they caught the perpetrators of this greed intended act. We are not surprised but once in a while it would be good if the bad guys are caught and put behind bars. I think if caught they should be shot , chopped up and thrown to the sharks. ... If only.
There is no excuse for instilling terror on innocent people. If they have such itchy hands they should go and rob the corrupt members of society. These corrupted people don't deserve to keep their ill gotten gains anyway . Go rob those who earn $ 5000 but drive $300000 cars, live in million $ homes and still are able to sleep at nite. Some one should publish a manual for would be robbers , " robbing for dummies"... Where and who to help, unload their ill gotten riches... Hahaha. At least they will get a standing ovation when caught.
Anyway, she now is afraid to stay in her own home alone, but having not many choices , home it has to be. I pray that God will keep her safe. the only thing to do now is to move to a condo. How one decides which treasure goes and which to throw , one will need a double degree in home management, a masters in mental therapy and a doctorate in emotional management. How to throw away the pieces of a big puzzle that forms your family growing up requires a working committee of Einsteins and Sigmund Freuds . If its just hoarding , then its easy, close your eyes and just throw but , when a family has to throw or give away parts of their lives , it's sad . Life doesn't stop to purposely upset you but it goes on and so we have to keep up and move on in the face of a tragedy or an unfortunate event. Albeit unfair but as man depends on God, it is his will be done , not ours.
Some times it is easy to comment when its not our hand that is stuck on the pot. It is easy for me to write this as I stand outside watching the events unfold, but, it's not easy to find the right words to say to the one suffering this act of cruelty. Now would be a good time to find solace in the Lord .

lost in time
I am truly lost in time. When I went to bed it was April , now it's end of May. so many events zipped through my life that my head is still reeling. Trust me when I say walking with Jesus is full of excitement .
After vising Guilin in March , we took a trip to Bangkok in May. The last time I was in this Thai city of very polite people was 20 years ago when my eldest son , Noel was 3 year old. The city has grown by leaps and bounds, with bumper to bumper traffic, buildings on every sq inch of land , shopping centers the size of a safari park and people trying to hustle a living in this city recently famous for it's red shirt or yellow shirt revolution.
Visited all the usual tourist landmarks, a must do when in Bangkok. At other times we were walking the malls , not with any intention of shopping but rather with the intention of taking shelter from the blistering sun outside. Oh yes, it was so hot outside that I think I could have fried an egg if I tried.
We watched a cultural show which we thoroughly enjoyed in a state of the art theatre. We took a ride only once in the fame Tuk tuk. 20 years ago I remembered enjoying the ride but this time round, the heat, the carbon monoxide polluted air and the honking of a million vehicles competing for a space in the endless long lines of traffic somehow took away the fun of the ride. Actually , I think it's just me getting older.... Hahaha
We had a lot of nice food, the Tom yum in particular was mouth watering. we didn't dare push our intestines to the limit of no return so, we ate cautiously. 6 days isn't long enough to waste 2 days in the toilet, if you get my drift.
The Hotel we stayed in is the best, location wise, smack in the center of the shopping district. For a habitual shopper it would be paradise. For us it was convenient, look see look see in an airconditioned environment. There are lots of things to buy but I am not a shopping addict so..... All that luggage weight I bought was not put to good use.
Tried the massage but I prefer my own massage lady in Sandakan. Had a foot rub the last nite there, now , that was worth every baht we paid. All that walking for 5 days took its toll on my tired calf muscles, toes , oh well the whole leg , so the foot rub was heaven sent, Why we didn't go do it every nite was a regret we felt when we left Bangkok.
Well, we will definitely pay a return visit sometime sooner , not 20 years like the last time.
